Transportation Safety Manager The Transportation Safety Manager will be responsible for the efficient safety tracking of our client’s drivers and meeting DOT requirements, as well as applicable state laws and FMCSA guidelines. The role involves interaction with drivers and other operations personnel (including Dispatch, Customer Service, Repair Shop, Warehouse, Import/Export, Human Resources, and Executives). Monitoring of drivers will be done through dispatch software Profit Tools, Samsara, and Disc Mobile interfaces. The successful candidate will implement and ensure compliance with all governing safety laws, track violations, and consider driver safety status and personal life components. Job Type: Full-time Responsibilities: Assure Drug & Alcohol programs are compliant with DOT regulations. Monitor safety performance and develop strategies for continuous improvement. Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures. Build and maintain driver qualification files and necessary employment documents. Manage Drivers Hours of Service. Monitor CSA scores to address trends and driver performance. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations at federal, state, and local levels. Provide safety training and education. Collaborate with insurance providers to manage claims and reduce costs. Represent the company in traffic court for violations. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in Intermodal Safety Management, with a strong understanding of rail procedures. Knowledge of Intermodal, Railroad, and Steamship Container Industries, including frequent depots and rails. Understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations. Knowledge of Clearinghouse requirements. Current knowledge of all related DOT, state, and federal laws. Experience managing driver performance and documentation. Proficiency with SAP and general dispatch software. Knowledge of Samsara electronic logging devices. Familiarity with IFTA reporting. Proficient computer skills. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Flexibility to work as needed. This position offers a competitive base salary.
