Distribution Center Shipping Loader - 1st Shift
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping Loader is responsible for accurately and efficiently loading outbound trucks with finished goods and materials. This role ensures that shipments are staged, verified, and loaded in a safe, secure, and timely manner to meet delivery schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load finished goods and materials onto trucks according to shipment schedules.
Verify product counts and match items against shipping documentation.
Ensure pallets and loads are stacked, wrapped, and secured to prevent damage during transit.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment (if certified) to move products as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized dock/loading area.
Follow all safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques.
Communicate with supervisors, shipping clerks, and drivers to coordinate shipments.
Report damaged goods, discrepancies, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Assist with other shipping, receiving, or warehouse duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, shipping, or loading experience helpful but not required.
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) safely.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
Forklift certification a plus (training may be provided).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical work in a warehouse and loading dock environment.
Exposure to varying temperatures depending on season.
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.
